Meet Harbor, Drift & Piper
If you have spent any time around Drops in the Ocean, you have probably noticed the three birds that seem to follow us everywhere.
They are on our logo, our boat, the website, and just about anything else we can find a reason to put them on.
But until now, they have never had names.
That needed to change.
So we would like to officially introduce three very important members of the Drops in the Ocean crew:
Harbor, Drift, and Piper.
Harbor the Heron
Harbor is the calm one.
Patient, observant, and always keeping an eye on what is happening around him, Harbor is perfectly content to stand quietly by the water and wait for the right moment.
He gives off the impression that he has everything completely under control.
Whether he actually does is another question.
Every crew needs someone who looks confident while everyone else is figuring things out, so Harbor fits right in around here.
Drift the Cormorant
Drift is the adventurer.
If something interesting is happening on the water, near the water, or especially under the water, Drift is going to investigate it.
He is curious, determined, and probably the most likely member of the crew to disappear overboard and come back a few minutes later acting like absolutely nothing happened.
We have a feeling Drift would be the first one to volunteer for the dinghy, the first one to explore a new cove, and definitely the first one to ask, “What is over there?”
Piper the Kingfisher
Piper may be the smallest of the three, but we are pretty sure nobody has told her.
She is quick, energetic, a little mischievous, and always ready when something exciting happens.
Naturally, she also believes every trip should involve fishing.
If there is a splash, a bait ball, or the slightest chance something might be biting, Piper is paying attention.
She probably also keeps score.
Our Little Crew
The more we thought about it, the more these three seemed to fit Drops in the Ocean pretty well.
Harbor keeps watch.
Drift wants to explore.
Piper just wants to catch fish.
Come to think of it, that sounds a little familiar.
What started as a few birds in our logo has slowly become part of the personality of Drops in the Ocean, and we thought it was finally time they had names of their own.
So the next time you see them on the boat, the website, or one of our videos, you will know exactly who they are.
Harbor. Drift. Piper.
Welcome aboard, guys.
Have a good one.
